‘The New intake for the Shiatsu Diploma Level 4 and The Shiatsu College Bodywork for Wellbeing Certificate’ starts on 26th & 27th September 2026, 10.00 am – 5.30 pm, both days.
- 1st Year Professional Shiatsu Diploma Course, cost £2200. Come and Learn Shiatsu with us. This will be your first classroom weekend of eleven over the next academic year. You will be given access to all course notes and handbooks. These are on our online learning platform, including access to your Holistic Anatomy course. This first year awards you ‘The Shiatsu College Bodywork for Wellbeing Certificate’.
- First weekend only. Attendance for Interest & Shiatsu experience, cost £160 (this can go toward your full year’s course fees, if you stay with us for that same year).
Sharing the Principles of Shiatsu Technique & Approach, experiencing & learning to give simple safe Shiatsu to friends and family. Working with presence, posture and breath and aiming to develop body and emotional awareness for connectedness in practising & receiving Shiatsu. Also touching on an introduction to the Classical Meridian System and use of some major acupressure points. Weekends start with warm-up exercises: ‘Do-in’ Japanese exercises & Qi-Gong. We will be working on futons on the floor. Translated, Shiatsu means ‘Finger Pressure’ – based in ancient Chinese medicine. Shiatsu is a Japanese refined complementary body work therapy, connecting with Ki (Qi) on multi-vibrational levels.
Weekend 1. 26th & 27th September, run together with all levels of courses, for easy access into the full year’s professional course.

Location of The Brighton Branch: The Sussex Multiple Sclerosis Centre, Southwick Recreational Ground, Southwick, West Sussex, BN42 4AB. Plenty of free car parking. Trains run from Brighton Station to Southwick - approx. 12 mins. with a short walk to the Centre situated deep into the park. Buses run also to Southwick Village.

Direct Entry into Year 2 is possible via Accredited Prior Learning (APL)
You will receive an in-depth training in Zen Shiatsu, supported by its underlying foundations in Chinese Medicine – including the location and use of Acupressure Points. The training includes an online Holistic Anatomy course plus study of the physiology and pathology of the body/mind, from both Eastern and Western perspectives. These studies will be informed by recent developments in understanding, for example of the liquid crystal structure of connective tissue and its relevance to healing touch.
You will be learning in a highly supportive environment with experienced teachers plus applying what you learn to the healing of others. Study in the final year also includes creating case studies, attending clinics and tutorials to prepare you for setting up your own Shiatsu practice.
The College’s Shiatsu Practitioner Diploma course is unique in the UK in being nationally accredited with Laser Learning Awards, as well as being fully ratified by the Shiatsu Society (UK). Graduates of the Diploma course gain credits that are recognised by employers and educational establishments. They also become MrSS (Member of the Professional Practitioners Register of the Shiatsu Society) upon graduation.
